Quick OOTD

I LOVE this scarf I got from Target.

It's super cheap, really light weight, has one of my favorite things on it (MORE STARS!!!),

and feels good on your neck.

Can't go wrong at the Tar-Jay.

And my red pants are back!... see the last time I wore them here.

OOTD- Anthropologie Banded Lace Skirt

I love this anthro skirt I scored on super markdown. It's really pretty and the details are beautiful.

2. My greatest weakness is caffeine! I try to keep the addiction in check and I don't really drink THAT much, but I realize how I absolutely feel AWFUL when I don't have it. I think there's something wrong with me, I'm getting sick, etc and then it hits me- " I haven't had any caffeine today." It's a problem, but it does so much for my mood, productivity, and general overall well being.

3. People always compliment me on my smile. Just today at work I was told I had a pretty smile. It made my day!

4. If you found me procrastinating you'd probably find me watching TV, surfing the net, or taking a nap.

5. The most cozy place in all the world is next to a fire on a cold night.

6. Something new that I tried recently was raw sushi with caviar- it was actually good! I usually stick to the cooked stuff but was feeling adventurous.

7. This weekend I would like to get some sleep! I stayed up WAY too late last night and I have a feeling it's going to take me a few days to recover.

Floral Dress is Back

(See the way I wore this dress last here.)

This dress is so easy to slip on, it's becoming one of my go-to's for all seasons.

Last time the 3/4 sleeves were enough to keep me warm- this time I added a cardi, tights, and some ankle boots.

Gotta love such a low cost per wear when this dress was less than $20!

Happy Tuesday, everyone- hope you're having a great week!

OOTD- Anthropologie Flared & Cabled Sweater Dress

This Flared & Cabled Sweater Dress is one of those pieces that is so comfy and easy to wear, I wish I had it in every color of the rainbow.

Or at least the three colors it came in.

It took me a while to decide which one to get, since I really liked the choices and they each seemed unique in their own way.

I definitely gravitated toward the mustard, but in the end the cream won out, and I love the color IRL.
Perfect for this pseudo winter we had and will carry me straight into spring.

Pretty little dresses all in a row

Today is Friday,
the day we fill blanks.

1. My favorite color is yellow!

3. Other people always tell me I look good in the color (red...I think a lot of really dark-haired brunettes probably get that too)- I DO GET THAT A LOT- GO FIGURE!

4. The color I detest is brown. I wear it every once in a while- but it's not a fave of mine.

5. If you were to look in my closet most of the colors you'd see would be bright patterns. I love swirls of color and most of my skirts are printed.

6. A color that I simply cannot pull off no matter how hard I try is cream- I love it and keep buying things in that color, but I don't know if it's the most flattering on me (see above OOTD- I keep trying!)

7. The color of my favorite dress is bright blue with bright pink at the bottom. But that's just one of my favorites- I have a lot!

Crossbody Bags

I am OBSESSED with any and all cross body bags. I have owned a few messenger bags before,

but I really like the satchel style bags that are everywhere right now.

I found these bags on clearance at the mighty Target for $7 each.

Can you believe it?

They were such a great deal, I took home all three.

The clearance section really can't be beat, because online the same purse was still selling full price for $29.99. That's a difference big enough to justify a jaunt to the store.

P.S. I also have a slight animal obsession! :-)

Love the triple strap!

Hot pink lining.
Foxy!

Basic black with stitching details and neat hardware.
Parking lot pic! Running around town with my new bag.

OOTD- Anthropologie Ruffled Skirt

Even though it is technically winter- it's been feeling more like fall or even sometimes summer around here.

I love it when a season is so perfectly represented in a single item of clothing and this skirt just screams FALL to me.

Plus I love yellow!

(And these boots!)

Animal print lining!

OOTD- Pleated Pink Midi Skirt

This skirt cost me a whopping $12 at H&M.

And it wasn't even on sale- that was the full price.

Love that store!
Is there anything better than huge platform polka dot mary janes?

Happy Monday!

OOTD- Orange Remix

I love that this dress can go from summer to winter with just a cute pair of tights and a simple cardi.
To me, the best kind of pieces are ones that can transition from season to season with the greatest of ease.

It's so comfy, it's almost like wearing nothing! :-)

.

(And I always get a ton of compliments when I wear these polka dot tights.
After I wore them the last time, I found a hole!
I'm thinking about getting a backup pair just in case. Is that weird?)

Dress last worn here.

Go Niners!

Niners beat the Saints!

That game was cray-cray everyone. Almost too intense to watch.

But the boys came through. I think it was because of me.

I went all out with the color coordination.

Red and Tan!

And even J.R. my pillow pet came along to the viewing/pizza party to show his support.

His name is now J.R. Davis in honor of Vernon, my new fave player and MVP.

Next up, they gotta beat the Packers. It's gonna be tough, but they can do it!

GO NINERS!

Other than that I plan on spending what's left of the weekend trying to tackle the enormous ongoing project of getting my disaster of a room organized and cleaned. I hauled one huge bag of clothes to the thrift store a few weeks ago and I've almost got another one filled.
I really hang on to stuff for too long.
Story of my life.
I'm getting better but it's a process.

I always feel better after I simplify, it's just hard for me in the moment to get rid of things.

My goal is get this done this weekend, by tomorrow. I have put it off long enough.
There will be a lot of coffee in my future.
Speaking of...

I made this New York Crumb Cake to enjoy with a cup of joe.

I've come to realize I'm not that good of a baker.
I can make a few things pretty well, but trying new things doesn't ever really work out or turn out the right way.
I also think I don't really like unsalted butter. Every time I use it I think that.
Is it ok to use salted instead even if the recipe calls for unsalted?
Any great bakers out there with some insight?
Sprinkling the powdered sugar on was the best part- besides licking the beater.
Side note: I made a HUGE mess in my kitchen.

Well I'm off to get prepared for my huge cleaning day tomorrow.
I hope I get it done before the Golden Globes so I can watch without feeling guilty.

I'll be back tomorrow with my picks for best dressed!
