Fun in the City- Romantic Edition

This is the last of my pics from that special day... The most special part? Seeing the corner where the other Mr and I got engaged. *sigh* it brought back so many memories. We have a very significant connection to this place...and it tugs at my heartstrings every time. Any savvy city dwellers recognize the location? Thank you for looking. Until tomorrow...

What ever happened to predictability?

Some of you might be wondering why I didn't drag my hubby to THE Full House house while we were so close in Alamo Square. The answer is simple: been there done that! Here's a pic from when I made my sis go there on the way to the airport at the end of her trip last year. And yes, I'm aware I'm a total dork!!

Fun in the City- Part Three

After running around all day we headed over to north beach for dinner and a show. We were so stoked to find out Rhys Darby was performing at Cobb's - we are both obsessed with him! (If you are drawing a blank right now, please go to YouTube immediately and watch some of his stand up.) I was so giddy at the thought of seeing THE Murray Hewitt in real life I was freaking out all night. I really wanted to try Patxi's , but we ran out of time and ended up going to burgermeister instead. It was good, I just wasn't in a burger mood, I wanted pizza or Italian... Any Flight of the Conchords fans out there?

Waiting for the show to start with a glass of bubbly!
There's my man! Love him!

Fun in the City- Part one

About a month ago, the other Mr. and I realized that between work, finances, scheduling, circumstances, we were going to end up being apart for a few weeks in July. I had a family trip planned that he could not go on because of work and pretty much the day I returned, he would be leaving for a guys only camping week he does every year with his buds. Sadly, this is just the way things play out sometime. While bummed out, I convinced him to accompany me to my favorite city (ok every big, beautiful city is my favorite, but still...) for a day to spend some quality time together before going our separate ways. It was such a gorgeous day and we had a great time. I always have so many things I want to do on my San Francisco wish list and that day I think I crossed off 10! It was the perfect way to spend a day with my hubby and only made me want to go back as soon as possible. I hope you like my pictures!
First stop was a picnic in Alamo Square. The weather could not have been more perfect!

Packing

I also used this last weekend as a chance to pack for an upcoming trip. My fam and I are headed to Alaska! Since we're in northern Cali we are heading up through Oregon (with stops in Ashland and Portland), Washington (stops in Seattle), and stops in Canada before spending time in Alaska. I have been before, but the last time was when I was eight and my parents stuffed four kids into a motor home for a month a DROVE to Alaska. I don't remember much (could be because of my age- could be because of trauma causing me to block out memories of this vacation.) I am looking forward to relaxing, sight seeing, reading and being with my family. Especially my sister who lives in SCOTLAND and is flying in for the trip plus an extra week afterward. This trip has been the hardest to pack for. The weather in Oregon and Seattle is warm and sunny. The weather in Alaska is cold and rainy. Add onto that formal nights and nice dinners on the cruise we're taking and I was at a total loss for what to bring. I finally forced myself to FOCUS and was able to pack what I hope will be the perfect mix of warm and cold clothes. I guess we'll see how that works out. I definitely had to adjust from the warm weather vacations I'm used to. Less minis and open toe wedges, more cardis and tights. I'm sure I will end up with a ton of stuff I don't need and stuff I wish I had thought to bring. Isn't that every trip though?
